The Incline Institute is an independent software and publishing company. We design practical applications for phones and smartwatches, and we publish non-fiction that's worth someone's evening — work chosen because it teaches something useful or preserves something true.

What We Do
A small company with a narrow definition of useful.
Three lines of work, one standard: it has to earn the space it takes up on your phone, your wrist, or your shelf.
Every project here starts from the same question: what does a person actually need to know at the moment they need to know it? Sometimes the answer is an app that puts information in your hand while you're standing in front of the thing you're curious about. Sometimes it's a book that took eighty years to arrive.
We build for the platforms people already carry — iOS, Android, and the watch on their wrist — and we publish work that deserves a longer form than a screen.
